Quad Twisted Easel Card - More Amore

Well here's a busy, busy card with lots of fun twists! This is called a Quad Twisted Easel Card and I first saw it on Jennifer D's blog. A Twisted Easel card is like an Easel Card (which when opened will stand up on its own) but it opens with a 'twist', because the front of the card is creased on the diagonal. Can you see how there are four 'mini' cards on the front of the card?  Jennifer has a Quad Easel Tutorial on her blog. However, she is in Australia, so I made some dimension changes and made mine to fit into a 5 1/2" square envelope. My Quad Twisted Easel Card is actually a five way twist as the entire front is a Twisted Easel Card, too. The easel part of the card is a raised strip or embellishment on the inside of the card which holds up the front of the card. This makes a beautiful showcase for your card.

I used several new products from the Occasions Catalog on this card, including the More Amore Designer Series Paper which I do love! Also, you'll see some flowers from the Flower Trim, I died them with watered down re-inker to add some color to the Very Vanilla base. And there are a few of the Resin Hearts and Flowers and some Lace Trim from the Artisan Embellishments Kit.  Here are a few more close-up pictures of each of the four mini easels on the card front.

Each of the four Mini Cards opens with a twist and 'easels' on a strip or embellishment on the inside liner. These photos above show them opened and standing. And here is an over head shot, showing all four cards opened.

Dimensions:
My card base is 10 1/2" x 5 1/4" to measure 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" square when folded. This fits well in a 5 1/2" Square Envelope. Stampin' Up! no longer carries this size of envelope, but you can easily make one to coordinate with your project using the Score Tool. Each of the Mini Cards are 2 1/2" x 5" to measure 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" square when folded.

To create the Twisted Easel on each card, simply score in half and then score on the diagonal on each card front. Be sure each of the mini cards are diagonally scored the same direction. Stamp and Embellish each one individually before adhering to the main card base. The front squares of DSP are adhered only on the bottom diagonal of the card front to allow the 'Twisted Easel' action of the card.

Dress Up with Love - Mojo Monday

I'm enjoying the last day of 2012 in my studio - playing with some of the new products from the Occasions Catalog from Stampin' Up! which begins next week. I am in LOVE with the Dress Up Framelits and the coordinating stamp set, All Dressed Up. But today I used only the Dress Up Framelits, with a piece of retired DSP and some of the new More Amore Designer Series Paper - which was a gift from a good friend - Thank you! Definitely ordering some more of this paper this week! The layout for this card is from the Mojo Monday Sketch today MOJO274. If you're looking for beautiful sketches, check them out every Monday for a new one. And look at this card, with the beautiful paper and the fun dress, there is only one stamp on this card - a small sentiment.

Recipe:
Stamps: Field Flowers (sentiment)
Ink: Real Red
Cardstock: Real Red, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Champagne Glimmer, More Amore DSP

Caramel Apples - Christmas Tags

Caramel Apples - such a yummy treat and beautiful to give, too! Here are some of the Caramel Apples and the treat tags we wrapped them for gifting. The bags are the Gusseted Cellophane Bags from the Holiday Catalog from Stampin' Up!. I used the Two Tags Bigz die for the Big Shot to die cut the folded tags. The sentiments varied and are added with banners or Circle Punches. Just a little strip of border punch Gumball Green and the Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon finish them off with the Hemp to tie to the bag.

Hanukkah Slider card - Jewish Celebrations

This card is being shown a little late, but I couldn't share it before Hanukkah as it was part of a series of gifts to my Secret Sister and I didn't want her to find it on my blog! This is a slider card with a top pull tab and a peek-a-boo window to the liner, using the Jewish Celebrations stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

My favorite part of this card is the Gold Embossed Window. I punched the window with the 1" Square Punch and then wiped VersaMark Ink around the frame. Then I poured Gold Embossing Powder over and heat it to set. The Star of David on the inside liner is stamped in VersaMark and embossed with Gold EP as well.
TIP: Punch the Window on the front of the card sleeve and then slide the liner into the card. Then stamp the inside image through the front window so that it is placed perfectly.

I heated the Taffeta Ribbon bow with the Heat Gun, too, which gives it this crinkled look. The pull tab is a Vintage Brad poked through a Circle of Midnight Muse cardstock which is stamped in Illuminate Ink. Then finished with small strip of DSP that covers the brad legs on the back side of the liner.

I made a custom Vellum Envelope for this card using my Score Tool. The Snowflake Tag is numbered '8' for the eighth gift she opened. The Snowflake is from the Snow Flurries Bigz Die in Silver Glimmer paper. I stamped French Script with Illuminate Ink onto Midnight Muse Paper and then punched it with a Circle Punch. The numbers are die cut with the Typeset Numbers from Champagne Glimmer paper - these are SPARKLY!

Here is the first gift I gave my Secret Sister - I ran a Vellum Bag through the Big Shot with a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then tied it closed with some Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon. Inside are a tube of Starbucks Creme Brulee candy and some curls of DSP.

I really loved the tags for my gifts and some of the packaging was beautiful, I just wish I had given her more inspired gifts.

Scentsational Season

One of the cutest Christmas stamp sets from Stampin' Up! this year is Scentsational Season. And an extra bonus with this stamp set is the bundle Holiday Collection with Scentsational Season and the matching Framelits for the Big Shot!

I pulled the beautiful baubles image stamp from My Friend stamp set and stamped it in the Illuminate ink on Midnight Muse for the base of this card. Then added a trim of Silver Glimmer paper and several die cut images from Scentsational Season across the bottom.

Winter Memories - Ice Skates

Here is one of my favorite Christmas cards from this year. I colored the ice skates image from the Stampin' Up stamp set Winter Memories and then added some Red Dazzling Detail to the berries. The front of the card is cut 3/4" inch narrower than the back, so the Merry Christmas sentiment that shows to the front of the card is actually stamped on the inside liner of the card. A little more glitter with the Glimmer Brads.

Tea bag Gift Card

We made these Tea Bag Gift Cards at our Technique Club this month as we revisited some techniques, including Brayered Embossing (Big Shot.) This card opens to a double pocket inside that holds tea bags, but could also fit small packets of cocoa or small chocolate bars. The dimensions are easy and assembly goes quickly. And we used Summer Starfruit ;) in a color combination straight out of the Color Coach.

The card base is cut to 8 x 8 1/2". Scored in half at 4 1/4 on the 8 1/2" side. Then turned and scored at 3" on the 8" side. Fold all the score lines and cut a long narrow 'V' in the center fold to take away a little of the bulk - you can see this in the picture below. Then punch a pocket window on each side with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. We used about 20" of ribbon across the inside of the card, adhered before adhering the pocket flaps.
