Countryside - Man's Birthday card

I played with watercoloring this truck from the Countryside stamp set from Stampin' Up! today. I colored three different images with my Aqua Painter and Markers and here is a card with one of them. First I stamped the image in Basic Black Craft Ink onto the Water Color Paper from Stampin' Up! Then I Heat Embossed this with Clear Embossing Powder. Embossing the image I am going to color always helps me - and I need all the help I can get when it comes to coloring!

I used several different Markers, including Midnight Muse, Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple from the new In Colors, as well as Cajun Craze and Early Espresso. I scribble the brush tip of the Marker onto the lid of my stamp set to lay down ink. Then I use the Aqua Painter to use this ink for coloring the image. When everything was dry, I added some Dazzling Detail to the apples in the back of the truck and then used a Crumb Cake Marker in the Spritzer Tool to add some speckles.

{Inside} I had water colored another small image of the water spigot from this same stamp set, so I used it for the inside of this card. I am linking this card to the Operation Write Home Blog - be sure to check them out!

Mary, this is super gorgeous! I like your idea of heat embossing the image before coloring; must try that! Great job.
